Restricted vehicle access to Village Park via Geelong Road access point at the end of Hitchcock Avenue: Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 July 2024

1 July 2024

To enable us to safely remove the existing sewer pipeline and replace it with the new pipeline, Geelong Road, Barwon Heads will be closed from Hitchcock Avenue to the Kindergarten/Tennis Club driveway from Wednesday 3 July 2024 for approximately two weeks.

There will be no vehicle access to the Village Park via the Geelong Road access point at the end of Hitchcock Avenue from Wednesday 3 July to Friday 5 July (inclusive). (See the first map below)

During these three days, we suggest all vehicles access the Village Park via the Kindergarten/Tennis Club driveway. Access to this carpark will continue to be maintained throughout the project.

Pedestrian and emergency service access will always be maintained via the Geelong Road access point at the end of Hitchcock Avenue, even when vehicle access is restricted.

Following Friday 5 July, the Village Park access point at the end of Hitchcock Avenue will be reopened for vehicle and pedestrian access. For approximately two weeks whilst the Geelong Road/Hitchcock Avenue intersection is closed, please access the Village Park via Margate Street or Carr Street, as shown in the second map below.

Altered traffic conditions will continue to be in place for the duration of the rolling road closure. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist you, along with Variable Message Signs (VMS) with messages to provide prior notice of traffic impacts. The bus stops along Geelong Road and Carr Street have been temporarily relocated during the rolling road closure.
