• Barwon Heads Primary School

    With the help of grant funding, the school has installed a water efficient irrigation system in the school garden and green house. They now have a flourishing, efficiently watered orchard of 7 healthy fruit trees co-habituating with their chickens. They also have an irrigated greenhouse which enables an ongoing supply of seedlings for the garden and for community fundraising. Their vegetable crops are flourishing with regular and sustainable watering due to the new watering system.

    The school has designed and implemented a nature play space that fosters social inclusion among our diverse school community. This space provides an opportunity for students to engage in collaborative play, build connections, and appreciate nature together, supporting a sense of belonging and unity across different year levels.

  • Clairvaux Catholic School

    The school used their grant funding to upgrade/replace deteriorating outdoor drinking fountains, integrating artwork into the design.

  • Colac South West Primary School

    The "Garden Guru" project focussed on environmental stewardship through hands-on learning and action. Students were engaged in a comprehensive initiative aimed at creating and maintaining a biodiverse garden ecosystem within the school premises. This initiative encompasses several key phases: locating the garden area, conducting research about the local environment, selecting appropriate plant species, supporting the ecosystem, preparing garden beds, planting out, and evaluation.

  • Kardinia International School

    This project successfully converted 22 above-ground garden beds into 44 efficient wicking beds. This transformation has significantly reduced water usage, cutting yearly consumption by an impressive 80–90%. The switch to wicking beds has conserved water and promoting sustainable gardening practices. Students actively participated in constructing the wicking beds, gaining valuable life skills, a deeper understanding of water conservation and how to grow healthy organic food.

  • Newtown Primary School

    Their initiative hosted a whole of school "Earth Crusaders" incursion where students participated in workshops with a focus on how to best reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink. The Earth Crusaders presented a fantastic engaging eco-incursion all about creating sustainable cities and communities. Students were given the opportunity to build their own eco city using an Eco City kit.

  • South Geelong Primary School

    Grant funding allowed the expansion of the school vegetable garden through the purchase of additional garden boxes and materials for the construction and installation of wicking beds. They purchased seeds, seedlings, the arch and other climbing materials, gardening tools and pea straw. The garden is absolutely thriving and the school is looking forward to harvesting and enjoying the lovely pumpkins, zucchinis, tomatoes and herbs in the new year.

  • Torquay Coast Primary School

    Torquay Coast Primary School students enjoyed an excursion to Common Ground gaining knowledge about regenerative and sustainable farming and gardening. They learnt about resilient food systems to share with the broader school community.

  • St Anthony's School Lara

    The school used the funds to replant an area where trees and plants were destroyed in a summer storm. The plantings will create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere that fosters connection between nature and learning.

  • St Brendan's Primary School Coragulac

    Funding assisted in creating an outdoor classroom area which doubles as native habitat for creatures great and small.

  • St Leonards Primary School

    With the help of grant funding, the school has purchased 4 new wicking beds that have been placed in existing garden spaces. The wicking beds have significantly increased their production and have demonstrated that water efficient resources don't use as much water.

  • Hamlyn Banks Primary School

    Grant funding will allow the school to upgrade bubbler taps with suitable fixtures for filling drink bottles and addressing water efficiency.

  • Newcomb Secondary College

    Thanks to grant funding, the school can install a Zip Hydrotap in the wellbeing area to enable reliable access to drinking water for vulnerable students.

  • Oberon High Schoool

    With grant funding. they will establish and maintain a native bush tucker garden at the school.

  • Queenscliff Primary School

    Their aim is to support a nature play space with ecological design input from the Swan Bay Environment Association, including the purchase of Indigenous plant stock and part-fund development of the space.

  • Lake Colac School

    The school will use their grant funding to install a water efficient watering system, planter boxes and plant stands in the school's new greenhouse.
