Friends Of Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk launch event a success

19 June 2023

We’re excited to share that Bellarine Catchment Network’s first ‘Friends Of’ group event was held on Wednesday 7 June at Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk.

Despite the rain, representatives from Bellarine Catchment Network, Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and Barwon Water were pleased to welcome 14 group members along for the first planting and weeding event.

The Friends of Murrk Ngubitj Yarram Yaluk group will meet on site monthly to help with bush regeneration activities and restore local habitat for our wildlife.

Being part of the group is also a great opportunity for green-thumb community members to meet like-minded people, learn about indigenous and weed plant species, and contribute to citizen science.

The group is still recruiting new members. If you’d like to register your interest, please complete the form on BCN’s website.
