Community Tree Planting Day at Black Rock

8 August 2025

Barwon Water is continuing its partnership with the Bellarine Catchment Network through a community tree planting day at Black Rock.

Building on the success of the previous year’s event — where more than 1,500 trees were planted — the initiative supports the restoration of coastal habitats and helps enhance regional biodiversity.

On Friday 8 August, we gathered at Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant in Connewarre to make a lasting, positive impact on the local environment. With around 45 community members and Barwon Water staff participating, we planted around 150 endangered Bellarine Yellow Gums and 700 native species.

We’ve created a short video about the day. You can watch this video in the Country and Community section below. If you’d like to take part in future tree planting days at Black Rock, please contact our team on projects@barwonwater.vic.gov.au.
