Barwon Water is upgrading the existing Melbourne-Geelong pipeline (MGP) to help safeguard year-round water supply to customers under dry conditions. The upgrade will ensure Barwon Water continues to provide high quality, affordable and secure services for our customers.

Between Monday 16 June 2025 and Friday 27 June 2025, construction works to replace a section of the pipeline will take place in the road reserve near the Peak School Road and Farrars Road intersection in Lara.

As part of these works, please note:

• Speed reduction zones and traffic management will be present to ensure safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
• During construction there may be increased noise and dust. We will aim to minimise impacts to local residents.
• Access to private property for local residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.
• There will be no interruptions to water or sewerage services during the work.
