CAC May meeting udpate

20 May 2025

It was great to have Board Directors Jo Plummer, Peta Maddy as well as Managing Director Shaun Cumming along to hear from our members directly at our May Customer Advisory Committee meeting. The focus of this meeting was for the CAC to learn more about Barwon Water’s approach to servicing its major growth areas and a focus on Barwon Water’s South Geelong Redevelopment. Members participated in an activity on the development objectives of this project where they discussed and prioritised which development objectives were most important for them.

They also received an update on dry conditions and our response as well as having an opportunity to see the topics of focus for the CAC for the next two years following their feedback and discussion at the February meeting. Additions for this period include river health metrics and water quality testing, updates on the data from digital meters, customer experience and the customer affordability pipeline and First Nations Knowledge, Engagement and Reconciliation to continue their lessons from last year’s Cultural Awareness Training.

The CAC is currently made up of 17 community members across our region with a variety of backgrounds, age and experiences.
