CAC reviews our performance

24 August 2025

We met with our Customer Advisory Committee this month to get feedback and recommendations on how we performed over 2024–2025.

Committee members were overall ‘comfortable’ or ‘very comfortable’ with our performance against the commitments we made in our Price Submission 2023–2028. Members agreed performance should be rated as green across all four outcomes in our Annual Performance Scorecard submission to the Essential Services Commission (ESC).

The review highlighted the many achievements and projects we’ve worked on this year, including upgrades to the Melbourne to Geelong Pipeline and water saving solutions for local communities such as the recycled water pipeline to the Apollo Bay Golf Club.

We expanded our Alternative Water Grid with planning for an innovative recycled water and stormwater reuse project in Torquay to protect the environment and save drinking water.

We completed the Barwon Heads sewer upgrade and invested significantly in our yearly pipe replacement program after dry conditions saw an increase in bursts and leaks. We made the switch to 100% renewable energy ahead of schedule and took the keys to our first hydrogen-powered prime mover.

We progressed our Colac and Regional Renewable Organics Network facilities and kicked off research on biochar for agriculture and battery technology.
As always, we continued our community education and grants programs, helped schools save water and opened the Museum of Modern (f)Art which has been popular with kids and adults alike.

We ended 2024–25 with a great result in the ESC customer perception survey, coming out on top for customer ratings on value for money, trust, reputation and overall satisfaction.

In addition to these highlights, we shared an update on our major projects and discussed opportunities for more community education on where our water comes from and what makes up your bill, as well as payment and customer support programs.
