About the project

Barwon Water is currently planning improvement works to the Queenscliff Feeder Main (water supply) along sections of the Bellarine Highway and into Point Lonsdale. These works will help increase year-round water capacity, ensuring Barwon Water can continue to provide high quality, affordable and secure services to our customers.

The Queenscliff Feeder Main (6.3 kilometres long) is the sole source of water supply for the customers in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale and therefore it is crucial that it is in a good and reliable condition to maintain the current service levels and avoid future unplanned service interruptions to these towns.

Preliminary site investigations

We have now completed preliminary site investigations, including geotech investigations, cultural heritage and flora and fauna assessments and service proving,

Design stage site investigations

The design phase of the project is now complete, and we have carried out further site investigations over the last few months.

Update to project staging

Stage 2 future planned will deliver the remaining sections of the Feeder Main in 2028-29. This timing allows for coordinated planning with other programs and ensures works are delivered in a manageable and efficient way, while minimising disruption to the community.
