Colac - Sewer maintenance hole replacement works

26 May 2025

Barwon Water is upgrading sewer maintenance holes along the shared pathway by Barongarook Creek, Colac, as part of our ongoing asset renewal program. These essential works will help improve sewerage services to properties and reduce risks of leaks and odour in the area.

The location of the works:

  1. West side of the Sculpture Park walk between the Princes Hwy and Pollack/Chapel Street
  2. One on the east side of Barongarook Creek, and one on the west side of Barongarook Creek (Hugh Murray Reserve) between Chapel Street and Quamby Avenue

The works are scheduled to occur between mid-June 2025 – end July 2025 typically between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm weekdays, weather permitting.

As part of this work, please note:

  • There may be increased noise and dust. We will aim to minimise impacts to local residents and businesses. Steam may be visible during the works.
  • You may notice odour. This is not harmful to people or pets.
  • Access to driveways and private property will be maintained.
  • We will reinstate the area upon completion of works, ensuring it is left in good condition.
  • There will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we get these essential works done.

This work is being delivered by Barwon Asset Solutions, a company owned by Barwon Water to deliver high quality asset maintenance and project management services.
