Barwon Water is upgrading the sewer pump station located on Pepperdine Way, Highton, as part of our ongoing asset renewal program. These essential works will help improve sewerage services to properties and reduce risks of odour, leaks, and bursts in the area.

A key component of this project is upgrading the odour control infrastructure. While we are improving this system for long-term odour management, you may notice an increase in odour from the site, at times during the construction period.

Work is scheduled for Monday 24 February 2025 to Monday 30 June 2025. Work will take place between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Please refer to the map below for the location of these works.

As part of this work, please note:

• There will be some changes to traffic conditions, including reduced speed limit on Thornhill Road, Parkland Court and Pepperdine Way Highton. Traffic management will be present on site to ensure the safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
• There may be increased noise and dust. We will aim to minimise impacts to local residents and businesses.
• You may notice some odour, as we are working with sewage. This is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to minimise any impacts to nearby residents.
• Access to driveways and private property will be maintained.
• We will reinstate the area upon completion of works, ensuring it is left in good condition.
• There will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.
