Barwon Water is replacing several sewer vents across the Greater Geelong region as part of our ongoing asset renewal program.

Sewer vents allow gases that build up in the sewer network to safely escape, preventing pressure build-up and minimising odours in the surrounding area. Replacing aged or damaged vents helps maintain the safe and efficient operation of the sewer system, ensuring reliable services for the community into the future.

Work is being delivered progressively across various locations between 2025 and 2026. Crews will generally be on site between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. If our crews need to access a vent located on your property, you will be contacted separately.

As part of this work, please note:

• You may notice increased noise from trucks and construction activity. We will aim to minimise impacts wherever possible.
• There may be temporary odour while works are underway. This is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to reduce any inconvenience to nearby residents.
• We will reinstate all work areas upon completion, ensuring roads, footpaths, and nature strips are left in good condition.
