Flow meter installation - Apollo Bay

31 March 2021

Construction commencing: April 12 2021

We're installing two new flow meters on our water mains in Apollo Bay. The meters will measure water usage in the township ensuring we can continue to provide reliable, high quality water services to our customers.

The flow meters will be installed in road reserves on existing water mains. One flow meter will be installed on the corner of Costin Street and Seymour Crescent, and the other on the Great Ocean Road, near the Recreation Reserve (see maps below). The monitoring component will be housed in above ground cabinets, 1-metre-high by 1.2-meters-long.

Construction was delayed and will now commence on Monday 12 April 2021, and is scheduled to be completed by Monday 10 May 2021. Activities will occur Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm.

As part of this work, please note:

  • We will install temporary fencing around the work site to ensure public safety during construction.
  • There will be some changes to traffic conditions, including speed reduction zones along the immediate construction areas. Traffic management will be present on site to ensure safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
  • During construction there may be increased noise and dust. We will aim to minimise impacts to local residents.
  • We will reinstate the construction area upon completion of works, ensuring footpaths, roads and grassed areas are left in good condition.
  • Access to driveways and private property will be maintained at all times.
  • Some properties will be without water for one day during the works. If this impacts your property, you will be notified separately by mail.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we get these essential works done.
