Modification works – Black Rock precinct – Water Reclamation Plant

30 May 2025

Barwon Water is upgrading our infrastructure and equipment at the Black Rock Water Reclamation plant, to ensure we can continue to provide reliable sewerage services for our customers.

Work is scheduled for mid-June 2025 to December 2025. Work will take place between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Please refer to the map overleaf for the location of these works. There will be nightworks within the facility between mid-July 2025 to mid-August 2025.

As part of this work, please note:

  • There will be increased truck movements on Black Rock Road, Connewarre. Additional temporary signs will be erected for the works.
  • Please be mindful of trucks entering and exiting these areas.
  • There may be increased noise and dust due to construction. We will work to minimise impacts to local residents.
  • There may be an increase in odour, as we are working with sewage. This is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to minimise any impacts to nearby residents.
  • Access to driveways and private properties will be maintained.
  • There will be no interruption to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we repair this critical piece of infrastructure.

This work is being delivered by Barwon Asset Solutions, a company owned by Barwon Water, to deliver high quality asset maintenance and project management services.
