Bellerine Street night and days works - between Myers and McKillop streets - Monday 22 April to Wednesday 24 April

Barwon Water is continuing to undertake emergency works to clear a large sewer blockage on Bellerine Street, Geelong.

The blockage has been caused by a build-up of food scraps, non-flushable wet wipes, sanitary items and other rubbish.

To help support clearing the large blockage in the sewer pipe, night and day works will need to be undertaken
between 8pm Monday 22 April 2024 until 8pm Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Works will remain ongoing until we can clear the sewer blockage.

During these emergency works please note:

  • Trucks, machinery and lighting will be in place near a number of sewer maintenance holes along Bellerine Street between Myers Street and McKillop Street.
  • You will experience noise from the operation of trucks, generators, fans, pumps and crews working on site.
  • You may experience some odour, as we are working with sewage. This is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to minimise any impacts to nearby residents.
  • There may be a loss of carparking near the work site.
  • We will reinstate the area upon completion
  • of works, Traffic management will be in place to support the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians.ensuring it is left in good condition.
  • There will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.
