As a final step in the emergency works we need to inspect the pipeline from Roy Street to Bellerine Street in Geelong. Work will take place each night between 8pm and 6am from Thursday 25 April to Sunday 28 April 2024. Following these works, you may notice our crews in the area as they inspect other parts of the sewer network throughout the week.

What is involved?

• Our crews will be inspecting the sewer pipe that travels along Mercer and Malop streets,
• Work will be completed in sections - commencing at Roy Street on Thursday night and finishing at Bellerine Street on Sunday morning.
• To minimise impact to traffic, this work will take place at night only.

During these works, please note:

• altered traffic conditions (including reduced speed, lane closures, detours, support for pedestrians and traffic controllers on site)
• possible loss of carparking near the work site
• increased lighting to help crews work safely - we will try our best to keep this directed away from houses
• possible odour as we are working with sewage - this is not harmful to people or pets, and we will work to minimise any impacts to nearby residents
• you may notice some noise - we will minimise this as much as possible
• access to private property for local residents and emergency services will be maintained
• there will be no interruptions to your water and sewerage services as part of these works.
