Draft community vision and community feedback report available

8 February 2018

Consultation on wastewater solutions are well underway with the Forrest community.

So far the community has participated in an online survey, vision workshop and information sessions.

The wastewater audit (undertaken by Kernow Environmental Services) was completed in November, 2017 and found that there were significant and widespread issues relating to onsite wastewater management across the town (read the wastewater audit results summary here).

Feedback from the community consultation has been mixed. While all agree the environment and character of Forrest needs to be protected, there are differing views as to both the extent of the problem, and the cause. What’s not in dispute it that any solution must avoid cost to the community and residents (read the full community feedback report here).

A draft community wastewater vision statement and associated aspects has been developed in light of the survey and workshop feedback, we are now inviting the community to provide feedback on this draft vision in order to finalise so the vision can be used to assess and develop wastewater solutions for the town.

To provide feedback, please complete the survey (see survey tab here) or leave a comment.

Barwon Water will be in Forrest throughout February and early March in the lead up to the next community session where the community will have the opportunity to develop wastewater options for the town.

Dates and times of these sessions will be communicated shortly.
